My Favorite Social Media Apps

Hiiii, everyone! Hope you all had a great day! :)

So today the topic is basically going to be about my favorite social media sites and apps. I know that there are so many different social media sites/apps, and it can be kind of confusing to pick one to use when there are so many to choose from. Sooo, I'm gonna let you guys know of the ones that I love to use!

1.) Instagram!

This one's pretty popular. I find that it's super simple to use- no confusing gadgets or anything. It's just a really cool way to share pictures that you take of your friends, you, your life, etc. It's also a free app, and available on both iPhones and Android phones.

2.) Pinterest!

I'm probably one of the world's biggest pinners...no joke. Pinterest is literally the best way to waste time. I find myself on the computer all the time just flipping through, looking at cute outfit posts and other cute stuff. I find that it's a lot easier to use than Tumblr- I'm not a huge fan of Tumblr, unfortunately (no offense to those who use it!) But seriously, Pinterest is my favorite thing ever.

3.) Line

Line is basically a way that you can communicate with people not only in the United States but also in other countries. For those of you that are like me with relatives in other countries, this makes it super easy to text, call, video-call, and send pictures with people in other countries. It also works well with people in America, too! And plus, it's free of charges for their services. Really recommend you to check this out!

These are just three of my favorite social media apps. Of course, I use others- Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, etc., but these are just a couple that I use the most often. Hope this helps some of you! And also, let me know if you'd like me to do a post or video about what I use to edit my pictures on Instagram!

Review: Maybelline Color Whisper Lipsticks

Hi, my lovelies! Hope you're all doing well! Today I have a review for you on the new Maybelline Color Whisper Lipsticks. I picked these up about a week ago and tested them all out this past week to see which ones I liked and which ones I didn't like- all of that fun stuff.

I'm super excited to say that I really loved these! The formula is very smooth and comfortable for everyday wear or even for going out. This line of lipsticks is very versatile and can be worn so many different ways. These lipsticks are not drying, and leave your lips with a nice shine. They actually have a really nice amount of pigmentation, too! I'm super impressed by Maybelline's formulation of these. Also, dare I say it? I love these more than the Revlon lip butters! *GASP* Yes, I said it- I love these more than the lip butters from Revlon! I'll go a little more into detail about these-

First off, these retail for around $6 dollars- a pretty good bargain compared to the lip butters, as those can actually get up to around $9 at CVS or Walgreens- a little crazy, in my opinion. I personally find that the Revlon lip butters don't last particularly long, but with these lipsticks, they can last long, depending on the way that you apply them. Overall, I'm really impressed by these and they're definitely a hit in my book. Let me know what you think!

Good Reads: The Fault in Our Stars

Helloooo, beautiful ladies! I just finished what may be my favorite book in the whole wide world...The Fault in Our Stars by John Green! So, I thought it'd be a good idea just to come on here and let you guys know about this book sent from the heavens (yes, I love it that much.)

Just a little insert about this new series: I LOVE reading, so I think it'd be fun to just have a series where we can all talk about good books- a little more instructional than just beauty posts. They're not gonna be summaries or anything- I just want to let you guys know if a book I read turns out to be really good if it's something I want to share with y'all; so no worries- no spoilers here! Let me know of any good book suggestions that you guys have!

Anyways, I was actually required to read this book for school- I'd never expected it to turn out to be actually good- I mean, come on, The Odyssey isn't really my opinion of "entertainment." (No offense if you love this book!~) But....I SERIOUSLY LOVE THIS BOOK TO DEATH. This novel has a really interesting and pageturning plot. It's not just a girlie book- it has a lot of deeper meaning and inspires a lot of thought. It combines a love story and questions about the meaning of life. I found it to be the perfect combination of romance and real life issues.

All in all, I think this book is fantastic- by far the best I've read in a long while, and I definitely recommend it to you all. Be sure to check it out if you get the chance! I promise it's worth your time!

Just a Personal Update

Hey everyone! Hope you're all having a wonderful day! I thought I'd just come on here and do a more personal, "get to know me better" post.  Just thought I'd update you guys on a couple things in my life- not related to beauty or fashion. So that being said, if you're not interested, no worries, my next post is definitely gonna be about some of my favorites for the month of January, so be sure to check back for that.

So for a quick rundown on what's been happening in my life recently- first off, I took the SAT on Saturday- talk about stress, right?! I've practically been prepping for this test since I was born (okay, not really- just since I was freshman, and I'm a junior now.) Also, I'm in the process of slowly- slowly- redecorating my room; nothing huge or anything, just a couple minor touches. For example, I've been looking for a new bookshelf that's white. The one that I have right now is this really ugly brownish orange color. Also, I really want to switch my bedside table out into something white- I love the look of clean and classic white furniture and accents. My walls as of now are this kind of sea foam blue color, almost classic Tiffany blue- I definitely don't want to change it, though. I'm hoping to just find a couple of cute little accents to spice it up. Let me know if you'd like to see a room tour, by the way!

I really love the look of this room! Cute and classy.

Also, I've found myself in kind of a blogger block- is that even a real thing? I've just been kind of struggling to find inspiration. I've found myself wanting to walk outside in a t-shirt in sweats every day...totally not normal for me. I usually LOVE to get dolled up- hair, clothes, makeup- the whole shabang. But I don't know, recently I've just been kind of unmotivated to get into these things that normally I'm really into. Have you ever gotten into a rut like this? Let me know how you dealt with it, because it's really starting to scare me (that sounds totally superficial, but it's true.)

Another thing is, I've finally gotten back into swing of reading books. Reading has always been something that I've absolutely loved to do, but for a little while I couldn't find any good books that I'd been motivated to finish. Definitely be sure to let me know what books you've read that you liked and if you'd like if I made a post or video on some of my favorites.

Hmmm, I guess that pretty much concludes this "personal update." If you like this kind of post, let me know and I'll continue doing these! They're definitely fun for me to write and don't require any prepping for me. If you guys all end up liking this idea we can all try to come up with a cute name for this series.

Anyways, thank you all for taking your time to read my silly little posts- it really amazes me how some of you guys come back continuously to read about what I have to say. Just wanna say a big THANK YOU and LOTS OF LOVE from me to you!

Review: Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

Hello, my lovelies!

Hope you're all doing well on this lovely Tuesday! As for me, it's been pouring rain since 6am this morning...BOO. I slept really well last night, though! Anyways, today I have a review for you on the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. I picked this up after I got my eyebrows threaded for the first time a while ago with my lovely mother. I figured, hey- I finally pushed myself to suck it up and get my eyebrows done- MUCH needed, by the way- so I might as well treat myself. A lot of my friends really enjoy this foundation, so I decided to give it a go.

A couple things to note:
- this foundation is $36: pretty pricey, but around the price of an average high end foundation
- really nice color range! 30 shades total; comes in warm, cool, or neutral
- comes with 1 oz;  typical for most foundations

First off, this foundation is pretty high coverage- I'd say it's pretty comparable to the Revlon Colorstay, if you're looking for a drugstore version. It comes off as a matte/satin finish, and leaves you pretty much no shine, which is wonderful for my oily-skinned ladies! Personally, I have combination skin, which tends to lean toward the dry side in the winter, but I still get oily patches. For me, this foundation wears really well, and I needed no touch-ups throughout the day with powder. As for the finish and lasting power, I'm pretty impressed! However, this foundation can leave my skin looking pretty cakey, which is one of my top pet peeves. :(

As for the color match, I'm around a MAC NW30- 35 when I'm tan, 25 when I'm more fair. But color matching is really no problem with this foundation- good job, Estee Lauder! It comes in a total of 30 shades. I wear IW2 in Sand, and it's a pretty good match. But as with almost everything I find, unfortunately, there are some downsides to this product. Like I mentioned before, this foundation tends to look cakey- which I'm pretty sure nobody likes the look of.

Also, this foundation has a pretty heavy scent- and it kind of almost smells like....a nursing home. How unfortunate! Besides these two things, I'm pretty impressed with the foundation- I just don't think it's really geared toward people like me- I tend to like more light-medium coverage, that doesn't leave you completely matte; I like to have a nice "glow." However, if you tend to go for really high coverage foundations for a reasonable price with a HUGE color selection, this is a really good choice.

All in all, I give this foundation a 7/10! Pretty good, but could definitely be improved.

Hope you all benefitted somehow from this review! Let me know what else you'd like me to review/mention in a blog post or video.
